Wahiawa, Hawaii is a quiet town in the middle of the Island of Oahu. This place is the coolest part of Oahu and usually almost rains everyday but on this lucky, unique and memorable day 08-08-2008, the rain did not appear! Only just a drizzle of rain appeared throughout the celebration, the marriage of my niece, Amilynn Ugalino, daughter of ...

I just wanted to share with you all some photos from our papal experience over the last weekend at the World Youth Day 08. We attended the final papal mass on Sunday at the Royal Randwick Racecourse here in Sydney. It was an opportunity to take pride in our dual identities - both as Filipinos and as Australians...

When I learned unexpectedly that there is a group of Magsingalenos here in Sydney, I felt so excited that I wanted to meet up with them straight away. Ronnie Tolentino and myself have been planning to get together with our respective families since the time he came out of the woodwork, but it just hasn’t happened yet. Now that we discovered this bigger group of kailians, most of whom have been living in Sydney for a few decades now, it gave us a stronger reason to make this planned meet-up happen sooner than later.

Every year for the past fifteen years, the Filipino Community in Hawaii have supported and organized a parade and fiesta down at the famous Kalakaua Ave, one of Waikiki’s most popular strips. Doing this Fiesta and Parade is to reminisce the culture and places we came from, our Motherland, the Philippines.

I have been lucky to have caught the internet wave. Many of my contemporaries didn’t bother to learn the computers and explore the internet. And I am reaping the benefits of learning the technology especially that my family members are located in different parts of the world. For example, I have my parents in Magsingal and I am here in Pangasinan and my brother in Hawaii. Many...

I couldn't get through the thick crowd when I went there at 8:30 in the morning. I had to wait until 2:00 in the afternoon when the number of people was less to be able to reach the center of the action and take my photo shots.

The medical mission was a definite success. The Vice Governor of Ilocos Sur himself visited the mission. Mr. Tereso Ugalino, the head of the volunteer mission, was around to oversee the program.
