John - the Army, Police, Education (MS), Awards/Achievements, War, Family, Good heart…you name it he got it all!
When we were young, I remember John as the straight haired boy (kasla lampaso), very strict but smart little boy in San Vicente, Magsingal, neighbor of my grandparents “Maestra Alang and Lakay Atong Alvarez”, together with Auntie Maestra Cion. Each time I stayed in town, I noticed his presence powering over his siblings Starlet, Jhanet and Wilkins. Yes, until now he exudes that power and shines at all times not only over his siblings (sorry Allet, Jhanet and Bong) but in every undertaking he does.
His parents Leonardo and Laring Udani as well as his wife the former beauty queen Jena Tolentino and 2 kids Joanna, 8 and Josh Christian 4, are all very proud of him. He is one of a kind that we all, not only Magsingalenos, should be very very proud of.
I am sharing his biographical sketch below to inspire someone if not all of us. Yes, adingko, I am inspired and very proud of you. My kids VJ and CJ are so proud of Uncle John in uniform, ipad-padamag daka pay,a. “Is he my unlce mom?” VJ asked and I answered YES! Let the kids be inspired and idolize a great person such as JOHN UDANI.
Look at John’s goal: “Short term goal is to properly train, prepare and equip all Soldiers of our Squadron in order to arm and posture them for our upcoming mission or deployment to Kuwait/Iraq. Long term goal is to be promoted and command a combat Battalion, Squadron or higher during peace and war time. On the civilian arena, my goal is to be promoted to a position of greater responsibilities, be able to command a team or a district and continue to make a difference in the community that I serve. “Holy macro, I love that! Now, I feel I belong to the ARMY, ARMI of 1 Realty. I command the 1 and only me!

Hi Rocel and Kaniol, of course I remember you guys! Thanks for taking the time to stay in touch, I know we've been very busy with our daily chores but MVP closed that gap by allowing us to be in contact with one another. Regards and take care.
John (aka-Johnberd :))
Congratulation Manong John,I`am so proud of you .You are the greatest inspiration and a real hero.Hope you still remember me the youngest daugther of the Late "Faustina Udarbe Abrencillo"
Congratulations Manong John! I want to let you know that I am also proud of you!
I hope you still remember me...
I am the youngest brother of Manang Tessie Udarbe-Labrador there in Wahiawa, Hi.
Congratulations John, a good role model indeed!!Great job, wishing you continued success… can’t wait to hear the 1st Filipino General in Hawaii is from Magsingal, and that is you. You have a lovely wife and beautiful children too.
John, you are great and continue to be great! Job well done.
Imelda, congratulations! You are doing so great! You will be next to feature together with your beautiful and bright young daughter, Jermel. I will be contacting you shortly before Jermel's grad.
Aloha.
Congratulations to you John and to Imelda. You both deserve our two thumbs up!
This is what I mean about inspiring the younger Magsingalenos to be better. With your young life, you have already accomplished many great things. There's no doubt, even bigger things will be coming your way. Manong Mario might just be right about his prediction of a General Udani, pressure is on, hehe
Congratulations to Manang Imelda, job well done! To my honey, now that you're done with school, you can help me with the house chores..nah just joking, congratulations and we're very proud of you.
Jena Udani
Fellow Magsingalenos,
Humble thanks to all and to manang Armi who posted the article about my recent graduation. Though manang Armi wrote the article in such a way that made me a shining star, I am not. Just trying to be a role model for my children, help others and give back – same simple goal that we Magsingalenos have in common. These achievements couldn’t have been done without the countless support from my family. Finally, thanks to Manong Vicente Collado Jr., Vic Andallo and everyone else who created this outstanding website allowing Magsingalenos all around the globe to reconnect back to our wonderful town of Magsingal.
Aloha,
John Udani
Thanks for the job well done, Armi. Pero why did you post my picture - I looked like Manang Nenita's mother already.
I am not surprised of John's accomplishments. He is always been a person I always admire for being accomodating (he never turned me down everytime I asked him to be an emcee for MAH functions here in Hawaii as well as in Magsingal fiesta), humble (just found out that he is the boss of my friend's son who is also an officer in the military), always have a ready smile for everybody, hardworking (how can you be a full-time dad, police officer, and military at the same time).
Hello there, and Aloha to you and your family!
The moment we speak about little Johnberd Udani as a young boy we knew of him by that name, he had always wanted to be a Police Officer, and there you go Johnberd of Hawaii, you've accomplished your dream! Congratulations to you, pal! And to Jenalyn Tolentino as his significant other, keep reaching the highest dream you can ever get!
I remember Johnberd with a long shoulder level hair. He didn't want to cut it as he said he got sick everytime he cut it. And you finally got a clean hair cut! hehehe...It looks great! :o)
Nice to see you around MVP, and to hear much accomplishment you have in your life! Mahalo!
Congratulations to Imelda also for getting her degree! We are all so proud of you!
Aloha From
Mario and Edna
To John,
I have not met you in person yet but I have read about you in the news as being a Honolulu Police Officer and also an Officer in the Hawaii Army National Guard. As a retired military myself, I want to thank you for leading a company of soldiers in Iraq a few years back, risked your lives, for the sake of our freedom which some people do not understand why we are over there. You are our HEROES! The way you are doing right now and the educations you accumulated so far, I predict that you will be the first Filipino General in the Hawaii Army National Guard, From a former soldier, I salute you SIR! Congratulations John!
Aloha and I am proud,
Mario Ugalino
